SUCCULENT TERRARIUM CONTAINER

As we have mentioned, succulents like warm/dry environments, they don’t like to be wet or cold. This is why a succulent terrarium is a great, unique, beautiful decoration for indoors.
It doesn’t take much time or money to create a succulent terrarium, in fact you can create one using an old jar, dish, or a succulent terrarium bowl. Just make sure the container you use isn’t very deep, if it is too deep you could possibly suffocate your succulents.

CREATING YOUR SUCCULENT TERRARIUM
Once you have your container that isn’t too deep or too big, then it is time to create your succulent terrarium. Of course you’re gonna need your beautiful succulents that you bought from your local nursery, or even better online with 3 day shipping. You will also need fast/well draining succulent soil, gravel or rocks, and a little bit of charcoal.
Put your gravel or rocks into your container, and then put a little bit of charcoal on top like an inch or so. Doing this will absorb all odors and toxins that will harm your succulents. After you do this go ahead and put your moss and succulent soil on top of the gravel or rocks and charcoal.
Now it is time to plant your succulents into the terrarium. Dig little holes into the soil, you can use a stick or a spoon. Plant your beautiful succulents at least an inch apart away from each other. It is important to do this because your succulents will all need to breathe, and having them too close to each other will possibly stop air flow.

If your succulents aren’t staying straight up then you can put some sticks in there to hold them straight up until they start growing naturally.
Once you have done all of this, then it is now time to start decorating your succulent terrarium! Most growers do a nice beach-type theme which looks very good. Growers also do a desert-type theme which also looks amazing as well. There are so many wonderful themes out, also many decorations out there for sale to help you complete your beautiful theme.
A lot of succulent lovers use a very beautiful, unique decorative rock-type decoration, this decor is called top dressing. Top dressing is very common and popular in the succulent world, it creates a beautiful decoration for your beautiful succulents. Try out top dressing for your succulent terrarium!
SUCCULENT TERRARIUM CARE
Once your succulent terrarium is all done and created then all there left is to do is simply care for it! It is best to keep your succulent terrarium in a location that gets enough light. It is also great to keep your terrarium near a fan or any type of air flow so your succulents don’t suffocate. Your succulents need air so make sure they are getting it!
Don’t water that much! Make sure you only water only about once a week, or when the soil is completely dry. Succulents don’t need much water already, so just make sure you don’t overwater your succulents. Overwatering may cause root rot which will most likely kill your succulent if you don’t stop it.
This doesn’t mean don’t underwater! If your succulents look dry, or have wrinkled leaves then it is time to give them some water. It is important that you keep track of watering your succulents, so if there is a problem you know exactly when the last time you watered them!
Also make sure you use fast/well draining succulent soil for your succulent terrarium!

Caring for a succulent terrarium is basically the same thing as caring for succulents grown in pots. It’s the same thing, the same rules apply, the only difference is your succulent terrarium will need more air flow than usual because they are in a container. If they don’t get their air flow then they will suffocate and die! They need air!
That’s it!
Now you know exactly how to create a succulent terrarium, and how to care for one! It’s fairly easy and simple, just make sure you follow the steps and care guides and your succulent terrarium will look amazing!
Succulent terrariums are perfect for succulents, and succulents love to grow in them as long as they get their air. They make a great gift to a friend or loved one, also make a lovely home, office, or outdoor decoration!
